Editorial

It's been a busy month at nfpSynergy - we've been out and about meeting charities in Scotland, and holding a free event for all of our clients where Nick Hurd spoke about the future of volunteering.

Read on for our June e-news, including a look at  SMS giving in our new free report, and Joe's thoughts on how Gift Aid could work better for small charities.

Sending out an SMS - our latest free report looks at how charities can use text messaging for fundraising and campaigning

Why aren't more charities using SMS messaging and mobile phones for fundraising and campaigning? What are the main barriers, and how can the sector overcome them?

Joe Saxton was asked by the Institute of Fundraising to look at these issues, and the result is our latest free report, which has practical suggestions for charities who are working in this area, or want to start.
Click here to download the report now.

Our work has already started to open doors to the mobile phone industry - read this Third Sector article to find out why one SMS provider has said it will waive charity text donation fees.

What people say about our free reports - so how many have you read?

"concise, real and extremely valuable."

"For me, this was the first report that really delved into the ACTUAL facts and stats of online fundraising. No fluff, just good, solid information."

"Thorough, accessible and pertinent - your questions answered before you even knew you wanted to ask them."

This is just some of the feedback we've had on our free reports. There are over 50 reports and briefings on our website which are completely free for you to download - click here to see the full range. If you have any suggestions for future free reports you'd like to see, we want to know -  email us at insight@nfpsynergy.net with your thoughts.

nfpSynergy helps the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign develop a new children's website

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign wanted to improve the way they support children and young people with muscle disease, by launching a website catering specifically for them. They asked nfpSynergy to find out what this target audience wanted with a series of in depth interviews. Read more about our approach and the results here.

Our research enabled Muscular Dystrophy Campaign to develop a fantastic website which combines peer-to-peer support with entertaining and interactive content – you can see the end result at
myonlineworld.org.uk

If you need to find out more about your key audiences, get in touch to find out how we can help - email Brian Garvey, or call him on 0207 426 8887.

See the data from our latest research in Scotland, and find out how you can learn from the Obama campaign

Our free research seminar in Edinburgh last month was packed with Scottish charities who saw our data on the best-known charities in Scotland, and heard about what non-profits can learn from the Obama campaign. If you didn't make it along, you can now download the presentations from the event on our website.

If you want to find out more about our work in Scotland (we survey the general public twice a year, and MSPs annually), get in touch with us by emailing kathryn.green@nfpsynergy.net, or call on 0207 426 8866.
