Dear Kathryn,

We want your views on the state of the voluntary sector, our latest editorial looks at ways to grow the fundraising cake, our free report of the fortnight on what the public thinks of charity direct mail, and a new Social Marketing conference from CharityComms.

Our latest editorial: How can the next government and the sector increase the size of the fundraising cake?

Our latest editorial looks at fundraising innovation. Charities and not-for-profit organisations need new revenue sources now more than ever - read Joe Saxton's editorial to find out six examples of where fundraising could grow, covering everything from raffles to rewarding major donors.

Have your say on the State of the Voluntary Sector

nfpSynergy have teamed up with Third Sector to discover the views of charities and other voluntary organisations, on topics ranging from the recession to the provision of public services. You can have your say by filling in the survey. But you'll need to hurry, as there's only a week left - the survey closes on the 4th December. The results will be published in a special Third Sector feature in January.

Click here to fill in the survey - as an added incentive, respondents will be entered in a prize draw to win champagne and Amazon vouchers.

Free report of the fortnight - Signed, sealed, delivered: what the public thinks of charity direct mail.

We teamed up with the Institute of Fundraising to produce this report, which uses data taken from our Charity Awareness Monitor to examine the views of the general public on direct mail. 85% of people we surveyed said that they would stop giving if a charity contacted them after being asked not to - read the report for more useful statistics and insights.
